Physical DescriptionJug. Semi-transparent grayish white "opal" glass; blown; base formed from separate gather; handle attached; rim finished at glory hole. Jug. Rim plain; neck cylindrical, tapering slightly toawrd bottom; squat, roughly biconical body; hollow conical foot with plain edge; pontil mark. Handle dropped on to neck just above mid-point, drawn upward, outward and downward in smooth curve, attached to wall just above greatest diameter, pulled down over greatest diameter, crimped and then turned up at end, which is pressed against bottom of crimp. Traces of what appear to be gilding and red paint or enamel.Provenance
