Physical DescriptionRoyal blue matrix, green backing strips, opaque white, opaque red, opaque greenish-yellow and opaque yellow-brown marvered into surface, pitted with incrustation; fused mosaic glass technique. Fragment preserves inlay decoration of a possible floral motif, a red oval surrounds a yellow band with a yellow-brown central ovoid blob, to the left a series of yellow strips radiate from an opaque white element poorly preserved, above these two motifs is some opaque white glass, the entire design marvered into a thick deep blue matrix which is backed by a series of wide bands of bubbly greenish glass for reinforcement.
