Physical DescriptionColorless (greenish tint) non-lead glass; blown, enameled, gilt. Tapered straight sides with polychrome enamel decoration in a band around the sides, a hunting scene, with a man in green coat, green stockings and feathered black hat shooting a gun, another dressed in green sounding a horn, while a third, wearing a blue cape, riding a horse, fires a pistol; red dogs chase three red deer, two stags, a tan rabbit, and a blue boar toward a zig-zag net in the trees, while a brown and a tan dog watch; inscribed in white "Herr Johann Wantzellaus. Waltbereider in ducks. Anno. i.7.0.3."; gilt band bordered by narrow raised white enamel lines above the scene, yellow line below; flat base with rough pontil mark.Provenance
