Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, engraved. Cylindrical shape; engraved foliate border; rectangular panel engraved with a "secret" picture of Napoleon: the branches and trunk of the trees at left forming an opening in the shape of a man, a tomb at the right, under a palm tree, a ship in the distance, the sun setting; inscribed (engraved) "Napolion" below; an engraved floral bouquet on the reverse, inscribed "engraved" "Dein. Glüuck. Strahlt. heiter. wie die Sonne. Und jeder. Tag. bluth. dier. neve. Wonne." ("Your luck streams as brightly as the sun. and each day flourished for you with new joy."); panel-cut base; polished bottom.
