Interpretive Notes
These beads were made by shaping hot glass into a hollow tube, drawing the tube out into a thin rod, and cutting the rod into sections. Located on the eastern coast of southern India, Arikamedu was an important glass bead making site. Beads from Arikamedu have been found from Southeast Asia to southern Africa.
