Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, engraved. Large, bell-shaped bowl; engraved decoration, including an oval panel enclosing a view of the lake and mountains, with two large fish; elaborate scrolled frame with plants, fishing nets, tools, and a polished shell; on the reverse, an oval matte panel inscribed in polished lettering "NON VILESCIT/PISCIS ET HOSPES.", with swags of polished fruit above, in an elaborate, scrolled frame with foliage; disk above a wide hollow baluster stem, with rounded disk and short straight shaft below; circular foot with two engraved sprays of laurel and palm; rough pontil mark.
