Physical DescriptionOpaque white, translucent deep olive green glass; blown; white parison decorated with green trails which were marvered and dragged toward blowpipe to produce feather-like effect; inflated further; lower end of parison dipped in pot of white; white trails applied to lower end of parison, which also may have been dipped again; four white blobs dropped on to wall; thick mass of green applied to lower end of parison and drawn toward blowpipe in six "fingers" of unequal length, each deeply grooved by tool used to manipulate it; transferred to pontil; mouth opened and finished at glory hole. Vase: cylindrical. Rim everted and almost horizontal, with plain rounded lip; wall splays and descends almost vertically, curving in at bottom; flat base with large circular pontil mark. Decoration applied and tolled: wall has green over white trailed ornament, dragged into feather-like pattern, with four flat white blobs at about one-third of distance from rim to base; beginning above mid-point, lower part of body covered with white which is thick, uneven and streaked with horizontal and sloping stripes of grayish-brown iridescence; lower part of white is overlaid with thick layer of green, drawn toward rim in six "fingers" of unequal length, four overlapping top of white and each deeply grooved by tool. Signature scratched on underside of base with diamond point: cursive, in two lines: "David P. Donaldson/ 73".
