Physical DescriptionTransparent and opaque vari-colored glasses, wound on a mandrill, inner surface flat. Variously overlaid, carved or tooled, painted and gilded: (A) blue overlaid with pale blue, undecorated; (B) white, overlaid with transparent colorless glass, undecorated. (C) opaque orange, undecorated; (D) opaque dark green, overlaid with pale green, undecorated; (E) opaque dark red, undecorated; (F) opaque orange overlaid with transparent orange, tooled; (G) transparent deep orange, cut design of grooves and lozenges; (H) Translucent red, tooled design; (I) translucent red, tooled design similar to (H); (J) opaque white with violet overlay, carved; (K) transparent orange, with alternating applied motifs of opaque white dots and groups of tooled vertical gold lines; (M) transparent blue, with two applied lines of opaque light green and spaced tooled gold motifs; (N) translucent overlay red with dark red center line and applied tooled blocks of gold; (O) transparent colorless, overlaid with opaque pink and with opaque white cut through to reveal pink design of running lines and leaf-like motifs.
