Interpretive Notes
The wave-like pattern on this goblet was created by trailing a white glass thread around the clear glass. The thread was then “combed" to produce undulating lines.
Physical DescriptionWineglass. Conical bowl with rounded base decorated with trailed and feathered opaque white threading; joined by a merese to a mold-blown (12 ribs) ball knop and inverted baluster stem; attached by a glue bit a shallow blown foot with infolded rim and pontil mark. The stem is decorated with two ear-shaped attachments in blue glass with trailed colorless glass pincered into a series of waffle-patterned pads.
