Physical DescriptionSprinkler. Non-lead glass with pale greenish tint; free-blown, enameled. Slender cone with finial of slender stemmed ball on double- button; at one end, starting about 1.3 cm from bottom, applied tapering tube-spout with collared, tiny mouth; kicked or pushed- up base with small rough pontil mark; fine polychrome enameled decorations including inscriptions in script "Lieb mich allein oder lass gar sein" (love me only or leave me entirely alone) arching from small crosshatched motif above sprays of lily of the valley and, at top, within the frame so formed, also in script, "Gott mit uns" (God be with us); in center, two doves facing and perched on scrolls enclosing heart, with crown above and conventionalized flower and leaves below; at left, man holding out a pokal in his left hand and, at right, maiden holding out a bouquet of flowers in her right hand; spout and finial gilded.
