Interpretive NotesAfter Gallé’s death in 1904, the glassworks continued under the direction of his widow, Henriette Gallé. At the outbreak of World War I, in 1914, the company suspended production. It reopened in 1919 under the direction of Gallé’s son-in-law, and it continued to produce art glass until 1936, when the glassworks was closed.
