Physical DescriptionCovered Goblet. Clear glass with few bubbles and impurities; slight wear marks at rim of foot; free-blown, dip-molded and engraved. (a) Conical foot with rough pontil mark, hexagonal molded hollow pedestal stem resting on a stemmed disk and surmounted by a flat knob and two disks, round funnel bowl; on bowl the coat-of-arms of England (under George III) with motto: "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE" and "DIEU ET MON DROIT" and the royal crown as crest. (b) Set-in domed cover with composite finial - a doubly cushioned flat knob, and a mushroom shaped top; on cover a stylized leaf-ornament.Provenance
