This tumbler, enameled with the year “1914,” commemorates the outbreak of World War I. A professional school for glass decoration (Glasfachschule) was founded in 1870 in the town of Nový Bor (Haida).
Physical DescriptionWar Tumbler. Colorless glass; blown, enameled. Cylindrical shape; beveled rim; enamel decoration in black/white/orange/yellow/green; four enameled diamond shape panels enclosing "1914" separated by four smaller diamond shape panels; flat polished base.
