Physical DescriptionBottle. Olive green non-lead glass; mold-blown. Cylindrical shape with in-turned rim above a short neck; sloping shoulder molded with "LYONS/POWDER" on one side and "B & P/N.Y." on the other. Printed paper label covering sides says "LYONS/MAGNETIC POWDER/ FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF/INSECTS, ANTS, GARDEN WORMS, & c." plus a lengthy text on use and a facsimile of a seal from the 1853 New York Exhibition. Pontil mark on circular base.
