Physical DescriptionColorless, cased with translucent brown, with black and opaque white spots; transparent amber streaked with black and white; blown, cased, manipulated, applied, acid-fumed. (a) Jar: roughly cylindrical, of colorless glass cased with brown and flecked with black and white. Rim curves outward, upward, and inward, and is covered with thick overlay; wall has irregular profile which curves in at bottom, the irregularity caused by presence of band of five indentations around midpoint, with one small indentation above and six small indentations below it; base plain, slightly concave, with thin pad of colorless glass over decorated surface. Thick "collar" of streaked amber glass applied to outside and top of rim, pinched to produce indented and undulating surface, and drawn down wall in thick, irregular streaks. Surfaces made matte by treatment with acid. Two small paper labels under base: "0146" and "4". (b) Lid: circular disk with concave upper surface, convex lower surface, and rabbet on underside around edge; semi-circular loop handle at center.
