Physical DescriptionColorless, transparent pale aqua, blue and amber, opaque white and deep amethyst appearing black non-lead glasses; hot glass hot-worked, poured, and tooled; ground and polished. Flat irregular rectangular sculpture resting on one long side; different colors of glass have been ladled to create encased three-dimensional design; format is roughly divided into two vertical rectangular sections outlined by heavy deep amethyst trails; (facing front) left panel design shape of opaque white hot-formed stoppered jug in cross section (hemispherical body) with transparent amber flower-shaped "stopper", front is entirely encased in glass, aqua background blending to pale blue towards top, back side is also encased except for bulbous body which forms a deep cavity in the sculpture; right side has stylized hourglass-shaped amber head with "black" slanted eyes, nose, and hair, head is surrounded by small amounts of aqua forming background, two roughly hemispherical cavities formed behind head producing protrusion on front surface, outside corners on this side pulled forming extended "ears"; overall tool and pour marks and fire-polishing; base ground and polished flat; unsigned.Provenance
