Physical DescriptionGlittery brown ("aventurine" or "goldstone") non-lead glass, metal; cut and polished; metal mounts. Flat, rectangular shape, with rounded end; formed of two plaques of "goldstone", with elaborate openwork gilded metal sides, formed of a band of stylized flowers within linked ovals, framed by beadwork borders and bands of stylized fleurs-de-lys; rounded button to operate a spring latch on one side, near the flat end; the flat end of metal, clasping a small flat rectangular piece of goldstone with cut transverse grooves, hinged to the metal side.
