Physical DescriptionColorless, transparent blue, metallic silver; non-lead glass, silver (fein- and 9351), gold (7501), steel; glass is pressed, fabricated silver, hollow mounting. Horizontal brooch assembled from five pressed glass, six-lobed, ribbed, trumpet-shaped flower blossoms (alternating colorless and blue--3 colorless, 2 blue) mounted vertically with gold pins tipped with gold balls (balls nest inside of each blossom; blossoms sit in a row on top of a hollow rectangular bar of silver with matte finish, front and sides worked with overall low relief linear pattern suggesting wood or brick; back side of bar closed with inset trip of matte black metal cut with four equally spaced circular holes; four gold/brass-colored balls placed at each corner of back; double-pin clasp formed from single length of wire bent in half and passing through tube mounted at one short end, tips of pins fit into slits in both balls at corners of opposite short end; engraved on back of silver, near base of flower (upside down) "Der Blumenkasten 1993 M. Schliwinski".
