Physical DescriptionTransparent pale yellowish green glass; black, dark brow, yellow, and red pigments; blown; cold-painted (reverse painting technique). Triangular fragment of shallow bowl. Wall curves inward at bottom; base is almost flat, sloping slightly toward center. Painted on outside, with decoration intended to be viewed from interior: at left edge of base, on dark brown background, tiger facing left, with front legs straight (as though it is standing still) but one back leg forward and the other extended backward (as though it is moving); tiger yellow, with black outlines, stripes, and other features such as eyes and claws, and touches of red on nose, around mouth, and here and there on body. Outer surface of paint is matte and dull brownish red.Provenance
