Physical DescriptionAlmost colorless glass, with yellowish green fracture; blown, polished, cold-painted (reverse-painting technique). Fragment from center of floor of vessel. Inner surface is slightly concave and bears clear concentric marks of rotary polishing with, at center, more prominent circular mark surrounding unpolished area, presumably where vessel was mounted on lathe. Outer surface has remains of cold painting intended to be seen from inside. Depicted with dark gray outlines and other pigments including pinkish brown and probably white: charioteer, chariot and horses, moving to right; most readily identifiable elements are parts of horses (six legs, one chest, some harness) and chariot (both wheels and axle).Provenance
