Physical DescriptionSalt Shaker. Probably non-lead glass, opaque white; pressed; barrel shape with collar-ring at top below short threaded neck, ring-base with sunburst on bottom; painted or stained pink, and with painted buds and leaf circlet in purple, green and brown. Fitted with perforated pewter cap of type having small finial at end of rod through center and with blades to loosen the salt; stamped on edge "PAT ... DEC. 25, 1877. DANA K. ALDEN BOSTON, MASS."Provenance
