Physical DescriptionColorless, translucent white and striated yellow-green, shades of transparent green, blue, red non-lead glass, adhesive (type unknown by artist), Plexi-backing, electrical fixtures, frame; pieces of flat glass are assembled and layered in varying thicknesses, then adhered in a variation of the mosaic technique; facial section appears to be fused in some areas. Large vertical rectangular panel depicting bust of former U.S. President Richard M. Nixon; background in abstract block pattern (the Great Wall?), upper right corner has yellow-green vertical inset panel with black enameled Chinese characters over "1972" in a rectangular box; head rendered in blue gray glass, partially fused and partially laminated small pieces; figure wears shirt of opaque white, green necktie with two red square details, suit of dark green with shadows rendered by pointed shards; image is backed by large pieces of white and yellow-green, then colorless Plexi-, surrounded by heavy wooden frame and backed with light (fluorescent) box; inscribed at lower right corner: "R.
