Physical DescriptionColorless, possibly flint glass; blown, optic-molded, hot-worked. Thinly blown decanter with ornate stopper: (a) bottle, long narrow cylindrical neck with flared lip and fire-polished rim, ground interior near opening, neck is optic molded in parallel ribs that extend to and become faint at shoulder of body, neck length is decorated with applied spiral trail (over ribbing) that changes from thin (at lip) to thick (at neck base); body is a flattened spherical flask shape, flattened base; ground and polished pontil; (b) stopper, blown "poppy head" finial in elongated, flattened tear-drop shape, broad sides have molded pattern of diagonal ribs (in opposite directions), point is topped with small solid ball, narrow sides have extended crimped edges, narrow neck with tool marks, hollow shank has been ground and polished; unsigned.
