Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass, metal; blown glass, tooled brass. Pear-shaped lamp chimney, blown with sheared top and bottom rim, bottom rim with flange; metal kerosene burner with wide opening, spring to hold chimney in place, dome shaped deflector and screw threads around base to screw it into collar of lamp; burner marked: "EF JONES / JANUARY 11 1854 / BOSTON / PATENT" on wick raiser; "R.S. MERRILL'S / PATENT / JUNE 14 1859"; on wick holder underneath deflector.Provenance
