Physical DescriptionFrom the series "La Maschere Italiane: Pagliaccio Tiepolesco." Opaque white and opaque black non-lead glass; hot-worked. Solid seated figure of "lattimo" (milk) white glass with black details; depicts hump-backed male with arms bent at elbows and holding cymbols, wears tall conical hat with crimped up-turned rim, wearing black demi-mask, two applied white eyes, half-fringed tunic decorated with black band, ruffled "V" collar, fluted pants, high-heeled shoes with black toe accents, figure sits with crossed legs on bass drum (with small rough pontil); drum and one foot rest on attached solid flat white circular disc with rough pontil. Partial white paper label: "Ven[ini]/Murano Venezia/N. 4525/Made In Italy."Provenance
