Physical DescriptionAlmost colorless with yellowish-green tinge; blown, relief-cut. Base of bowl(?). Bottom of wall curves down and in; base flat; small scar represents remains of pontil mark. Decorated on lower wall and base. On wall: horizontal band of (presumably continuous) vertical cuts. On underside of base: medallion defined by concentric groove containing, in relief a stylized bird facing viewer’s left. Bird has pointed beak, countersunk dot for eye, short, curved neck, body shown in outline, triangular leg, and tail terminating in half-palmette. Outlines of breast and back are notched; neck and half-palmette are hatched, and outline of belly has herringbone hatching.Provenance
