Physical DescriptionSemi-opaque amethyst, opaque white, translucent amber glasses; wheel-cut and ground. Oval disc; disc of semi-opaque amethyst glass overlain by layers of opaque white and amber glasses. Most of the amber and much of the white glass has been removed, thereby creating a cameo plaque. The ornament consists of a female bust, the head seen in profile facing right. The hair is long and falls onto the shoulder. The figure is clothed and at least two strands of a necklace are visible. The flesh, clothing and jewelry are white; the hair is amber.Provenance
