蜻蜓眼玻璃珠
Physical DescriptionBead. Deep blue glass, appearing dark gray in reflected light, with opaque bright blue and opaque white inlays; beadmaking. Probably wound around mandrel, then wrapped liquid glass and added dot decoration to form eye-like effect. Bead: spheroid, with perforation 0.9 cm in diameter. Completely covered with decoration consisting of three continuous rows of large inlaid "eyes" with complex designs and small eyes with blue centers and white borders; all rows are parallel to edges of perforation; each row contains three large eyes alternating with three small eyes or pairs of eyes and rows are staggered so that adjacent large eyes are arranged in quincunx; rows at ends of bead contain single small eyes and large eyes with blue centers surrounded by three narrow white circles alternating with three broader blue circles; middle row has pairs of small eyes and large eyes with large blue centers and narrow white borders; centers of large eyes contain six small eyes with blue centers and white borders.
