Physical DescriptionDecanter and Stopper. Clear very bubbly glass with green tint; free-blown, enameled and gilt. (a) Rectangular body with slight kick at bottom and slight circular pontil mark, rounded shoulder and cylindrical neck with flaring rim; four sides of body are colorfully enameled: a man blowing a bag pipe and leaning against a tree, on opposite side the date "1657" in a garland, remaining sides show flowers each with three blossoms; on sides yellow dots and small blossoms in red and white, above bottom a red and an orange ring, on shoulder blossoms and dots, each corner showing a yellow and red blossom. (b) Frosted stopper, flat round finial; on upper part of stopper yellow leaves and multicolored dots; neck is gilt (partly rubbed off).
