Physical DescriptionBeaker. Clear glass with minute bubbles; free-blown and engraved, with applied parts. Wide cylindrical body with concave base and rough pontil mark, "Frosted" engraved decoration: two medallions surrounded by garlands of branches, one bearing a coat-of-arms with a heart, surmounted by the date "1697" and surrounded by the device: "Quocumque Loco Fuero. Iesum Meum Desidero" (wherever I am - I will call for my Jesus); the other bears inscription: "Iohannes Iustus Fragelius P.G. (?). Pastor Burckhartensis." between medallions are vines with leaves, grapes and ribbons; at top and bottom two chain-like bands.Provenance
