Physical DescriptionWood, iron; drawn, coated. Long-handled, with a long adjustable or extendable blade. The iron blade is clamped into a long cylindrical wooden handle that has a cut running almost the entire length. The back of the blade is held in by a square, slotted iron fitting nailed into the back of the handle. The front of the blade is held by a collor with a thumb screw that can be tightened to secure the blade, or loosened to extend it further. Two thick copper pins have been inserted through the handle approximately 1/3 of the way from the sharpened end, to give the tool additional support. Front edge of the blade is sharpened to a beveled and pointed edge. Iron blade is stamed near the back end, on one side, with two "stick-like" figures dancing (?), and "J.A. HENOKELS SOLINGEN".
