Physical DescriptionCovered Sugar Bowl. Lead glass, colorless; molded for pattern and free-blown; deep hemispherical bowl with wide galleried rim, flaring pedestal foot with underfolded rim; shallow domed cover with wide topfold on rim and with large pontil-marked button knob. Bowl in widely expanded geometric pattern (probably GIII-14): band of rays on bottom, band of vertical ribbing, one of alternate sunburst motif 4 and blocks of diamond diapering, one of diagonal ribs to right, single horizontal between bands; foot, pattern-molded, broken swirl design; cover, in geometric pattern (probably GIII-13) with the two bands of diagonal ribbing (falling on dome), one of alternate sunburst motif 4 and blocks of diamond diapering, and, under fold, faint diagonal ribbing.Provenance
