Physical DescriptionGlass Crown with Pillow and Booklet, "Untitled Commission for Dale Anderson". Colorless glass; blown, hot-worked, metal, ribbon, fabric; assembled. (a)Cylindrical shape crown with three open oval shapes in the front near the rim of pinched glass with greenish inclusions. The body has three applied trails one of which is pinched and an applied, engraved band of tarnished metal just above the base. There are some engraved squiggles around the body between the last glass trail and the meal band and a large "L" in the center below the peak of the crown. Attached to the sides is a length of off-white ribbon with a flower design. (b)The crown sits atop a pillow of muted, multi-colored flowers against a blue ground. (c) Accompanying the Crown and Pillow is a small stapled booklet "PICTURES FROM THE HISTORY OF GLASS CROWNS BY JOSIAH McELHENY c 1992" created by the artistProvenance
