Physical DescriptionTransparent blue glass with minute bubbles and clear glass with minute bubbles and greyish tinge; free-blown, tooled and engraved. (a) Flat or spreading foot (?) of blue glass (?), composite stem of clear glass consisting of an inverted baluster (supported by a triple merese ?) and four groups of triple- mereses with a flattened ball knop, bucket bowl of blue glass; (b) set-in domed cover in blue with composite finial in clear consisting of three groups of triple-mereses and a flattened ball knop, surmounted by an inverted baluster in blue; on the obverse of the bowl a globe with a book and a sword, on the reverse the inscription "HIS NITITUR ORBIS" (on this world one depends ?) both motifs being flanked by pairs of palm leaf sprays; on the cover a leaf wreath.
