Physical DescriptionClear glass with dark tinge; surface partly covered with iridescence, the remaining surface apparently formerly covered with iridescence now slightly frosted; probably cast or sagged; roughly circular medallion curved backwards to fit a curved surface of the vessel, on the reverse the remains of the vessel wall also made of clear glass; on the obverse a head or mask of a face (the type of head is similar to Hellenistic and late Hellenistic heads of barbarians), the hair modeled and strongly accentuated locks (similar to Hellenistic sculpture), pronounced moustache.Provenance
