Physical DescriptionCompote. Non-lead glass, colorless; pressed in two pieces. Circular bowl, sides rounding from pronounced table-ring to flaring rim with round serrated edge; smooth inner, patterned outer surfaces lightly stippled background; on sides, four so-called princess feather medallions--cartouche-like ornament formed by scrolled arms meeting at large bull's eye at top, small ringed bull's eye at bottom and with fine diamond field--, from each side, sprays of leaves meeting below star and above quinquefoil ornament flanked by star; on bottom, trefoil between S-scrolls and diamond stars around plain center at which the high conical base is attached. Base, high flaring conical, with round-scalloped rim, beaded bull's eye in each scallop; smooth outside, patterned inside: stippling in outer spaces formed by interlacing ovals, small flower-like motif in middle spaces, beaded oval in upper, ribs to small conventional ornament at top of cone.
