Physical DescriptionGlass Chair. Colorless plate glass, metal, textile, wood; slumped and sandblasted glass, assembled. Chair constructed from a single sheet of plate glass, slumped into a curved form that constructs the vertical support structure of a chair. The seat, upholstered with a cream-colored textile, rests on a metal fittings which are apparent only through three contact points with the glass. This reduced visibility of the seat support gives the appearance that the seat floats in the middle of the curved plate glass. The added decoration, a single line that terminates on each end in a meander (Greek key), has been sandblasted near the upper rim of the chair.Provenance
