Physical DescriptionSugar Bowl with Cover. Lead glass, colorless; bowl and cover each pressed in one piece; octagonal paneled bowl on circular flaring foot; smooth inside, patterned outside; alternate panels having star and scroll ornament on horizontally ribbed background and panels having leaf, shell and scroll on coarsely stippled background; on inside of foot, arcs radiating from small dot at focus and forming diamonds, dot at center of each diamond. Octagonal cover with octagonal knob topped by large dot at center of bead circle; smooth outer, patterned inner surface, having two series of four different motifs within triangle formed by tiny flowers (1) latticed triangle, (2) large bell-shaped leaf between trefoil at top and sunflower and five-petal flower at bottom, (3) large triangular leaf, (4) star above inverted cornucopia spilling out its produce; center top under knob, circle of beading around eight-pointed ornament.Provenance
