Physical DescriptionColorless (verre de soie), transparent green and reddish purple glass; blown, hot-worked, applied. a) Ovoid body blown of transparent glass, sheared top rim, 3 applied handles with rigaree trailings, applied stem tooled into a spool shape, applied domed circular foot with folded rim, rough pontil mark in center of base. Iridizing spray applied while hot. b) Lid, circular lid has a ground and polished rim, applied purple-red apple finial with green leaf. Iridizing spray applied at furnace. Design no. 2946.Provenance
