Physical DescriptionBox of 52 Shells. Shells, wood, paper, string, cotton; collected and assembled. Rectangular lidded wooden box held together with blue paper tape. Box contains 52 shells of assorted variety. One double shell is tied together with string. Two shells have handwritten notes on paper inserted inside. One shell has paper inscribe label affixed to outside; shell is also inscribed. Many of the medium-sized conch shells have intact membranes that are supported by cotton, which has been inserted into shells. Box also contains some cotton and paper packing material.Provenance
