Physical DescriptionPunch Bowl and Tray. Transparent light pink glass with few large bubbles; wear marks on base of bowl and tray; free blown, gilt and enameled. Punchbowl: Heavy ring base surmounted by semi-spherical bowl; heavy overall gilding and enameling. Rim is gilt, on foot multicolored flowers, on bowl a geometric pattern formed by trefoils between gilt parts, gilding being covered with multicolored blossoms, each of the trefoils bearing a large blossom and parts between trefoils having a geometric flower-and-leaf pattern; a wave-like thistle frieze at inside of bowl below rim. Tray has a short flaring rim and a large pedestal-like center with slightly raised rounded rim to hold base of bowl. Gilt rims and concentric rings at center, has a rim covered with oblong compartments bearing overall floral motifs, compartments being framed by white dots, blue lines and gilding covered with blossoms, wall of pedestal shows a wave-like blossom-and-leaf frieze.Provenance
