Paul Doros contacted Alexandra Ruggiero, Curator of Modern Glass, on March 13, 2021 via email. Mr. Doros was undertaking the large task of clearing out his parents’ (Jay and Mikki Doros) home, and gathering glass objects and paper materials for potential donation to the Museum and Rakow Research Library. He offered a selection of paperweights, dealer signs, and T. G. Hawkes & Company material from their collection. After further correspondence, photograph review, and research alongside our existing collection, Alexandra selected a group of objects for in-person review. Mr. Doros hand-delivered the objects to the CMoG warehouse on June 23, 2021 for consideration. In October 2021, Alexandra reviewed the selection again and, in conjunction with the conservation assessment, identified 10 objects that should not be acquired. This was communicated to Mr. Doros in early November 2011.
