Physical DescriptionPreserving Jar with Lid. Aqua and opal non-lead glass; mold-blown in a semi- or automatic machine, pressed. (a) Cylindrical shape with shoulders slightly rounded at top; neck with smooth lip, molded screw threads; inscribed on one side: "MASON'S/PATENT/NOV. 30TH/1858". (b) Separate zinc screw on lid with opal glass liner embossed: "GENUINE BOYD CAP/FOR MASON JARS".
