Physical DescriptionCompote. Lead glass, colorless of silvery gray cast; free-blown and engraved; wide hemispherical bowl, applied large hollow baluster stem with small double-domed boss at center bottom and resting on narrow stem, applied wide circular foot with ground and polished pontil mark; coarse, engraved decoration on sides of bowl: leaf and disc motif depending between diamond-crosshatched swags, disc and oval above juncture of swags and four ovals in quatrefoil formation in space above center.
