Physical DescriptionCovered Jar. Colorless, with grayish tinge; opaque white. Blown; vetro a fili, vetro a retorti. Slightly waisted cylindrical bowl with very slightly flaring, fire-polished rim and rounded base, joined by colorless merese to blown flattened knop; this is joined by small merese to pedestal foot with infolded edge and pontil mark. Flanged, domed cover culminating in flattened, hollow knop surmounted by solid dumbbell finial of colorless glass. Pontil mark of filigrana glass inside. Bowl, stem, foot, and cover are decorated with vertical vetro a fili canes alternating with vetro a retorti canes. Constriction below hollow knop on cover shows traces of red residue (from tooling with metal jacks).Provenance
