Physical DescriptionClear heavy glass; free blown and engraved; plain conical foot with slight pontil mark, solid inverted baluster stem supporting a flattened knop resting on a tapering stem, funnel bowl; circlet of oval panel-like cuts on the underside of the foot, the whole stem is paneled and facetted. The engraved decoration includes on the obverse the American eagle with a shield holding in its right claw a branch and in its left a bunch of arrows and having an inscription ribbon at its beak: "E. PLURIBUS UNUM" surrounded by fifteen stars and surmounted by clouds and rays; on the reverse a medallion with the letters "A. P." surrounded by two flowers and leaf branches including on the left side a rose and probably forget-me-nots as well as lilies of the valley, on the lower bowl a circlet of circular cuts.Provenance
