Physical DescriptionRelatively thick, clear slightly cloudy glass with large bubbles; free-blown and enameled. Straight-sided slightly tapering beaker with slightly concave base having rough pontil mark; on the obverse, in multicolored enamel a representation of the Ochsenkopf, on top is the head of an ox against a rock formation, underneath a lock suspended from a chain, on either side of the mountain the heads of two stags, below four rivers flowing out of the mountain; on the reverse a mirror monogram, possibly of Elizabeth Markgraefin von Bayreuth ?: "E. M. V. B." ? surmounted by a crown and surrounded by two leaf branches; the inscription in the empty spaces reads: "Mayn Eger Nab Saal. Der Fichtelberg bin Ich genant, in ober Francken wohl bekant. ANNO 1711" (I am the Fichtelberg well known in upper Franconia); below rim yellow band accompanied by two white wavy lines.
