Physical DescriptionColorless, yellow, and milky opalescent lead glass; blown, pattern-molded, assembled. (a) Tall tubular shape, with molded ribs and projecting points, shading from colorless at the bottom to milky opalescent at the top; with an irregular, spiral-trailed band of transparent yellow applied from near the bottom, reaching nearly to the top of the tube; two applied yellow spiky branches on the sides; three opalescent white ribbed, spiky tubes applied at the bottom of the tube; on irregular, root-like applied yellow and opalescent projecting "feet"; large rough pontil mark underneath. (b-c) Loose yellow branches, with solid, rod ends, branching, and with applied and pincered points along the irregular form; each branch with two opalescent white tubular sockets, ribbed and with pincered points on the sides; the lower ends of the branches snapped cleanly, with no further polishing; these three branches fit loosely into the small cylindrical sockets on the base of (a).
