Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass, metal, and fabric; lenses cast, ground, polished, and assembled. (a) Bifocal oval lenses, connected by flat gold metal bridge with illegible markings inside, at outer edge of lenses hinges are screwed which are attached to wire legs ending in curved ear-pieces. (b) Oval metal hinged case is lined with dark green or black velvet and covered with reddish-brown imitation leather, stamped "JOHN A.SPLENGER, M.A./GENEVA, NEW YORK." on lip of case.Provenance
