Physical DescriptionSweetmeat Glass. Colorless, non-lead glass; blown, cut, engraved, gilded. Oval bowl with elaborate gilded rim, a shell-shaped handle at the rear, shell scrolls toward the front; tapered sides above a rounded, panel-cut base; engraved vignette of a tree with two birds in the top; the back with an engraved pastoral scene, a shepherdess at the right, sheep in the middle, and a man playing a lute (?) at the left; faceted ball knop stem; foot with engraved ogee arches at the rim.Provenance
